How’s that working out, was it easy?
Very easy to do with Home Assistant.
Lots of talk already in the community of a direct pipeline. Right now, what you say is converted to text and sent to chat-gtp by Home Assistant. Home Assistant gets the text response and converts that to speech. We want to bypass the TTS by home assistant and get the speech directly from Chat GTP and get that emotion/voice inflection you see in that video.
As far as function, its definitely faster. I can also indirectly ask for something to be done.
Me: "Demerzel, its too dark in the Kichen. Can you fix that for me?"
"I have turned on the lights in the kitchen"
"Demerzel, the kitchen lights are causing a glare in the TV. Can you fix that?"
"I have decreased the brightness of the kitchen lights by 50%"
The only issue with that is the kitchen lights do not dim, so nothing happened. I have the 2 lights in the kitchen tied together as a group. That group has a dimming function so as far as she knows, she dimmed the lights. The switches themselves have no dimming function. I can train her to know those lights do not dim.

That’s really cool. Hmmm, for things such as lighting, do you need to tap into that third wire, the ewire, I think it’s called that, I’m probably wrong. I know most of my house doesn’t have it. But I’ve seen there’s a work around by having an additional wireless adapter to pull it off. I gotta find the video 😆 I’ll post it when I do.

There are some options out there that do not require a neutral wire.

That’s epic, hmmm, digging to voice. I’ve only seen a few episodes, but would you ever consider getting the voice of the computer in Star Trek the next generation?
Most TTS programs have set voices to choose from. You can usually find one that is close. I didn't put much effort into matching Dimerzels voice to the one in the series.
